Squid (UK)
After years of garage rock, the post-punk movement is all about icy textures and blaring artsy diatribes. With Shame, Fontaines D.C, Idles or Viagra Boys paving the way, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Squid be the next ones in the spotlight. They don’t have an album yet, but their singles are promising. 'Houseplants', for one, is a perfect disco-punk track to dance to. Another good example is 'The Dial', a downright edgy number reminiscent of Talking Heads.
