TOF Theatre (BE)
In a really small space, a man with quite a big belly is slumped on a couch. He is knitting and waiting… Hold on, what is he waiting for ? It seems like something pretty exciting ! Why not? He gives birth to a huge egg (sure as heck a pregnant man can lay an egg!), and out comes a sweet baby.
Here’s an idea: why don’t we shake up our preconceived ideas about what moms’ and dads’ roles are? It’s exactly what Tof Théâtre is trying to do in this comical piece by portraying the chemistry between a “moddy” (a contraction of mommy and daddy) and his son. The troupe takes us into the puppets’ day-to-day life, a journey sprinkled with infinite tenderness, the chaos of connivance and clownish clashing.
Pourquoi pas! is a man and puppet show that is quirky, endearing and wacky all in one.
Ages 5 and up.
