David Wahl (FR)
Who hasn’t taken away something their child picked up off the ground ? "Put it down, it’s dirty…" Has anyone taken the time to explain to them what it is, where it came from, why is it there?
In Histoire de fouilles (The Big Dig) David Wahl burrows in a sand box and flaunts what he finds. Trash or treasure? Maybe even both, if we take David’s word for it. These objects spin a tale that encourages children to think about the ecological issues of our time as they experience the impact of humankind on the environment. The story also addresses the notion of circular economy through object transformation. A pretty fun way to raise awareness on waste and recycling!
Ages 6 and up.
